The Interdisciplinary PhD Seminar is open to all doctoral students at the Graduate Institute and UNIGE. Organized by students and for students, the seminar has the objective of encouraging exchange of ideas and enhancing interdisciplinary thinking at the Institute. We offer participants from all academic units a forum to present their own research questions and approaches and discuss them in an open and relaxed atmosphere with people who share different academic perspectives. Our sessions go from presentations of preliminary and advanced dissertation projects to roundtables about important events and movie screenings, depending on demand. Our format is free-style, with flexible seating arrangements, lots of insightful thoughts and sharp remarks, and all of that served with snacks and drinks.
We are also more than happy to welcome on board other people who might be interested in joining the organizing team. Topics that we hope to cover are: issues of funding, further inter-departmental integration, ideas for panels and sessions, social events, etc.
We have also come up with a prospective schedule for the semester. If you want to volunteer for any of these activities, please drop us a line.
